A Different Kind of Halloween

Portugal does not celebrate Halloween as people do in the US, so I want to take this opportunity to share a special Halloween experience from last year, when we traveled to the States for the best-ever Halloween party. There is nothing as much fun as a Halloween-themed wedding with wickedly charming costumes and lots of fun people!

We dressed as Baron Samadi and Mamam Brigitte, Voodoo characters who escort the dead to the other side. We walked our daughter Meghan down the aisle, escorting our “Catarina” in a full red dress to marry her vampire wife, Jaime. The officiant was “Sally,” the rag doll in the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. This non-traditional wedding was overflowing with charachter, love, joy, and fun!

Meghan and her friend did most of the makeup. Yes, those are bones, cigars, and whiskey. Meghan made our hats. [click on thumbnails to view photos]

Tim and I are flanked by Nadja and Laszlo from the series What We Do in the Shadows  -- our son Cory and daughter-in-law Erica.

The wedding theme was "Love Never Dies." I agree. Let's keep love flowing!

Jaime and her best friend "Sally," the "bloody" cake, and Jaime's parents.

More creepy good cheer. [click on thumbnails to view photos]

Every costume has a story. All you have to do is ask.

Keep creating FUN and growng more LOVE.

Beijinhos,

Penelope and Tim

over the top costumes. I was never able to get into it, but it looks like a great part. We just got a fat Orange Pumpkin for four stinking years
